It's not easy being green

Mary Soderstrom’s remarkable book Green City: People Nature and Urban Places takes readers on a tour of eleven cities around the world to see how people and nature have interacted over the course of history.

Mary brings the discussion of the evolution of urban green space online, writing a series of posts for Urban Photo.net. Her first discusses Hamilton, Ontario—Canada’s Steeltown—a city that surprised her by demonstrating “as few other places do today the way ordinary people will work extremely hard to have their own bit of nature.”

The first post, "Hamilton is a Green City?",

Keep checking the Urban Photo
site for more from Mary as she discusses other cities featured in Green City, including Babylon, Chicago, Irvine (California), Singapore, Tanga (Tanzania), Kochi (India), Shanghai, and São Paulo.
