Jason Guriel will reading at Toronto's IFOA this Thursday night. Info here.
If you need a reason, or a reminder, as to why you should go hear him, Alex Good puts it as eloquently as anyone could hope for.
Jason also appears in a October issue of Poetry with a review of George Johnston and Jeramy Dodds.
Breaking news. Literary exhortation. Entertainments. And occasionally the arcane.

The meat of the matter
Although already a published author (non-fiction), Don LePan must be relieved to read a first review of his first work of fiction, Animals, published this fall in Véhicule's fiction series, Esplanade Books, edited by Andrew Steinmetz. Here are some choice lines from Jim Bartley's review which appeared in today's Globe and Mail.
"As an analysis of the human capacity to reconcile sentiment with savagery, it's spot-on: psychologically incisive, admirably disquieting ."
"LePan may openly grind his axe, but what makes the book powerful is just how keenly that axe cuts through our ethical hypocisty."
