Still, nice to be reminded of Joyce's great talent for dialogue. Oddly enough, the cartoon character looks remarkably like the "plumb Buck Mulligan" I had in my mind's eye - which may say more for my paltry imagination than for the illustrator...
Like many, my introduction to The Illiad and The Odyssey were those old Classic comic books, remember?...nice to eventually read the actual works, though not in the original Greek as Buck M would have insisted...
So kill all the comic artists? ...nawww ...a brief reprieve...
